Find us in front of the Shriner's next to Target between 10:00 and 10:30 am. The parade starts at 10:30 am. I have white aprons. Dress casual and wear good shoes. We could not get the new float transported to the parade so we are creating an alternative (Mark Sander's 7'x16' flatbed trailer). So we need banners, lots of banners. If your lodge has a parade banner or CHIPS banner, etc., let me know ASAP so we can add it to the trailer. Thanks. Mark Sanders and I worked hard last week to turn his flatbed trailer into a "float". A big thanks to Mark for all the work he did and materials he provided. He saved the day. Myself, Mark, Tom Wick and a small army of other brothers continue to work on the real float and track down a trailer to haul it. I'll try and get photos on the MAC website soon. We are deciding which other parades to participate in this year. We will publish the list soon. Ray Zimmerman -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: <52dbab8a0905192357w276ceab4s59b63cff8309a437@mail.gmail.com> Brothers, Many of us had the unique experience of attending the Oklahoma Masonic Indian Degree Team's MM ceremony for Br. Tom Wick last summer, certainly a high point among local Masonic events in recent memory. Naturally, an event of such magnitude required the combined efforts of Masons to numerous to name. In particular, a few of our newest brothers (at that time) volunteered many hours despite being unable to gain admission to the main event -- Br. John Laws being among them. In light of his contribution, the OMIDT offered to confer John's MM degree in Oklahoma when the time came. That time is now rapidly approaching, and John's degree is scheduled for *Thu. Aug 20th*. Within that same week, a special memorial will be held near the end of the Trail of Tears for WB Stephen Fondren, and his ashes will be spread there, consistent with his wishes. Several Masons from our neck of the woods are planning to make the trip (so they can vouch for John upon his return, I suppose, and save our Tyler some trouble), and they will be accompanied where possible by their ladies. If you have an interest in joining the group, please get in touch with Tom Wick ASAP at 503-381-7445 to discuss arrangements, and so he can let WB Tully Choate know how many to expect. It sounds like airfare is a better deal than usual at the moment (around $300 on Southwest Airlines). Fraternally, Tom Hoesing -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We will be walking and carrying our banner and the CHIPS banner. We will have aprons available to wear. Dress casual. The parade starts at noon and the route is only 1 mile long (easy walk). It starts at the Hockinson high school (NE 159th St and NE 170th Ave). Please show up by 11:30 am. As usual, the more Masons the better, so your assistance would be most appreciated.
