He's 90 years old and I'm trying to determine what lodge he is from. Regardless, I'd like to invite you to join me to visit this brother either later this week or early next week. He is 88 years old and says he's a member of Mt. Hood. He had a rare type of stroke that does not impair him physically, but mentally temporarily scrambled his brains. For his age, he is remarkably fit. But in late February he suffered the stroke and didn't regain consciousness until mid-March. He is slowly regaining mental functions but currently cannot read. Otherwise, he is quite lucid and we had a very pleasant conversation. He is very proud of his Masonic membership and misses the fellowship. He would definitely appreciate some visitors. He is currently at the Discovery Nursing & Rehab facility at 5220 NE Hazel Dell Avenue. He expects to be there only a couple more weeks. He realizes he can't go back to his apartment and is looking for an assisted living facility. If any of you would like to visit him, I suggest no more than 2 brothers at a time. He shares a room with another gentleman and there isn't much room. Please also keep me informed so I know he's getting visitors. Thanks for your help. We need to knwo how big of a bus we will require. I know some of the brothers south of the Columbia River had perhaps expressed and interest in meeting at ROOTS brew pub in Oregon to launch from there. That would be fine. Estimated arrival for stop #1 would be about 6:30-7:00 PM. More details to follow as plans are firmed up. We should have a tour guide on the bus for the breweries and have libation on board as well. The breweries on tap are still tenative, but if anyhting chages I will provide an update. I have attached another copy of the flyer... and I hope to see you there.
