For those of us lucky enough to have tasted Brother Gevorg's cooking at the summer picnic you know what a treat we are in for tonight!! I'd like to thank both WB Jimmy and Bro Gevorg ahead of time as when I spoke to Jimmy last night....at 9:15, he and Gevorg were at the VMC prepping tonights repast. If you would like to bring along a bottle of red wine to share over the meal that would be fabulous (or white, but this lamb dinner is a meal best served with a nice wine). I will be providing a few bottles from our cellar, but it's always a pleasant experience to introduce one another to different fruits of the vine. Sanders) Date: Fri, 15 Oct 2010 00:09:16 -0700 Subject: [Gendis] Fire at Cover to Cover Books & Espresso Message-ID: FYI: For those of you who may have heard from me, or seen on the news, my wife?s bookstore, Cover to Cover Books, was damaged in a two alarm fire originating in the adjacent restaurant/bar. No one was hurt, not even the bookstore cat, Smedley, or the Dog Wash dog, Chance. Most of the fire damage was confined to the bar/restaurant. However, the bookstore experienced collateral damage from fire-fighting efforts, as well as substantial smoke/odor damage to stock and fixtures. We?ll know more in the morning when we can see it in the daylight and talk with the insurance adjuster. Mel and I both thank everyone for their offers of assistance, but until we can more fully assess the situation, we will not know what, if any assistance we may need.
