Greetings Brothers,

This is reminder for some of you and an announcement for others, regarding the one FC and three MM degrees being conferred this Saturday at the Vancouver Masonic Center. Ridgefield is providing the meeting space for Silver Star and Washington 4. These degrees are special as we are conducting the one FC and one of the MM?s for a Silver Star Brother who has been recently diagnosed with cancer and is struggling to beat the disease or at least stay with us for his wife and son for as long as possible. Here is the agenda for the day:

9:00am ? Jobies will providing a light breakfast, if you can bring a couple of bucks for the treasurer in exchange for breakfast, it would be appreciated.

10:00am ? Ridgefield Daylight Lodge opens on the MM and will call down to the FC to begin the conferral;

10:30am (or earlier) ? FC Degree

12:00pm ? Light lunch provided by Silver Star (build your own Taco?s guys with soda pop) ? Silver Star will also work on proficiency with the candidate; 

1:00pm ? The beginning of the MM degrees (we have out of town guests and a lot to do so starting at one gets us out before dinner)

4pm-5pm ? Close Lodge

Degree Team Attire ? Tux or Dark Suit

FC Degree Coordinator ? WB Ric Bishop
MM Degree Coordinator ? WB Mark Sanders

WM Mike Clemenhagen has directed that Ridgefield will be conducting business during the down time between degrees, lectures, candidate changing attire, etc.

I was reading some stuff on the United Grand Lodge of England web site. When I submitted an enquiry, it ask me which Grand Lodge I was under. It gave me two choices. 

a.) The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington 
b.) The Grand Lodge of the State of Washington 

I answered with a,. 

Can someone tell me if my answer was correct and also explain to me the difference between the two Grand Lodges? Is one Prince Hall or something?

Many, many fraternities, secret societies, public oaths and so on have been leveled and squared by remnants of freemasonry. According to the same team that researched this copiale society stated to me that there is literally thousands of spin offs from our fraternity. And when I conversed with them about that statement further, they went on to tell me it was very normal and actually "unofficially required" for men throughout the ages to belong to some group. The Freemasons being one of the premier organizations. 

As one reads through Copiale - it's noticed and said that it was primarily a society designed for the individual interested in optomology - or the eyes. However a lot of the members later on were not even optomologist but wanted to belong just because. For what reason is unproven. As with any ancient society or fraternity - not all was documented and consequently lost in the fray of time. 

When digging further into this society - use the words Copiale Cipher to gain links into this world. The site is quite complete but very difficult to read and follow. However I took the advice of one of the professors and kept Freemasonry in the back of my mind when reading through this material. Strange stuff it is. But fun to see just another suggested avenue of the fraternities impact on the world. Hence - the distraction of the illuminati. Just a further thought.

I know the Carpenter's Union was heavily influenced, and have heard the same from members of other Unions. Navy Chiefs have a ceremony I was told is extremely Mason by one of the rare initiates. Copiale Cipher is definitely a strange society with strange ideas. It has subtle links to freemasonry. And oddly enough, was proved out by the professors researching and breaking the code. Very interesting indeed.

Hi Jay. None of my questions have been about any brothers or lodge business. It's strictly about historical "things" or material needed to bring myself up to speed to effectively operate with my local brothers. In essence - getting to know how we operate in the jurisdiction and some of the reasons why. I've never viewed Grand Lodge as a place to air laundry. 

GREAT TIME Saturday. I was able to feel refreshed on a lot of lost information. And just as important to me - the social aspect with my brothers. I guess the center is stuck with me for a while I presume.

Good to see you Saturday. Our Grand Lodge is the Grand Lodge of Washington. WB Wayne belongs to Vancouver #47, they are a separate but recognized Grand Lodge in Washington. There are 2 or 3 others that we do not recognize. 



Rules of thumb when conversing with other Grand Jurisdictions. If the question is general in nature it?s probably ok, if it?s about a specific brother then it needs to go through the Grand Secretary.

Here is a real world example of the direction our retirement endowment is taking. This is, right now, in the process of finding its legs in solutions support of our future aging troubles. The focus is to do all we can, while keeping a Brother/Sister in place. This is far preferable to whisking them off to some foreign community. We now face the challenges of keeping it going forever, thereby limiting what can be done with returns on the existing endowment monies. We were mistaken in keeping our dues rates so ridiculously cheap for decades. For those who benefited by this practice, please give serious thought to leaving the fund some of the savings rendered. This "Can" has been kicked down the road, along with the future of this country. Time to step up, Men. Let's see God Smile.

Brothers,

This Sunday is a work party for the Masonic float, starting at 10 AM at the
VMC.  We have lots to do to get it ready for the Longview Christmas parade
on Dec. 3rd.

 

Also, if you know of any business who is trying to rent out warehouse space,
I'd like to contact them to see if they would let us store and work on the
float there between now and the 3rd.  I don't think we'll get done this
Sunday and can't rely on the weather to cooperate.  We need a space at least
25' x 40'.
