I will be working with Mary on anything you believe may qualify. Just contact me. While I am not a big secrets guy among ourselves, this stuff will be personal in nature, and therefore strictly confidential. Jimmy JohnsonAmbassador kind of guy. Masonic Outreach Services Ambassadors Background: After traveling around the state this past year, it became apparent to the Director of the Masonic Outreach Services, Mary Craves-Hollands, that she and her staff would not be able to deliver the good news of Masonic Outreach Services without some help from the Fraternity. Because there are so many Brothers, their wives and widows across the state that may be in need of Masonic Outreach Services, the Director has decided to build an infrastructure of Ambassadors to serve as liaisons between the Districts and Outreach Services. Once all the Districts have appointed an Ambassador, Mary will travel around and meet with the Ambassadors in four or five general areas of the state. In the meantime, the Ambassadors may have questions about what their responsibilities are, so here is a beginning list for all of those who have so kindly agreed to become Ambassadors. First of all, be sure that everyone in your District is aware of the Outreach Services Program. There is a website where you can go for more information: masonicoutreachservices.org. Mary will also be happy to mail you brochures and business cards to assist you in getting the good news about Outreach Services to your lodges. Please feel free to contact Mary with any questions you might have about the services provided by the program. Her phone number is 206-878-8434/1-800-820-4630 Ext. 101 and her email address is mcraves-hollands at mrcwa.org Secondly, if you hear about a (defined as 62 years of age or older) or his wife and/or widow who might be struggling with some type of loss, health issues, financial problems, etc., please get a hold of Mary so she can advise you of the best course of action. Normally Mary or her staff will be contacting these people and figuring out what they can do to help, but you as an Ambassador may have to be the eyes, ears, and legs for Outreach Services if the person lives far away from Des Moines. If you are wondering if it is a legitimate referral, do not take the chance and not refer! That person could end up in worse shape. Call Mary and the two of you can talk it out and decide what the plan will be. We do not want any member of the Fraternity falling through the proverbial ?cracks?. Finally, Mary will be sharing information about new programs and services for you to talk about with Brothers in your District. How you deliver the information is up to you. You know best what works for disseminating information to your area members. On the other hand, if you are hearing about some service that may be of help in your area of the state, please let Mary know about that. If there is an unmet need ? let Mary know that as well and she can find a service (or develop one) that will address the need. Any type of feedback is extremely helpful to Mary and her staff. Even if it is negative comments, she wants to hear about them. The Outreach Services? goal is to be as available and relevant as possible to every member of the Fraternity, no matter where you live. Please contact Mary whenever you have any questions or concerns. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Lodge will not be opening, we will be serving Oyster stew, working on the degrees and dress is casual. On November 5, 2011, before lodge about 9:00am, the Jobs Daughters will be putting on a simple breakfast (better than doughnuts guys, and if you could bring a buck or two for the kids, it would be appreciated). Lodge will open at 10:00am on the MM, call down to the FC and the degree will be conducted. After the FC, Silver Star will be hosting a light lunch, with any donations going to Freemasons for Life Cancer Relay Team. After lunch, we will be conducting the MM degree with a special desert following the degree. If you are an EA and can not attend these very special degrees, please support Freemasonry in Southwest Washington by joining the Shriners Clowns on November 5, 9:00am, old Crosley Bowl and walk in the Veterans Day parade (for more details, see the this months Masonic Times, Ridgefield 237 WM message). Participation in either event is a great way to support our community and helps us make use of our working tools for more noble and glorious purposes...thereby fitting our minds, as living stones, for that spiritual building not made with hands....
